To be the force of sustainable behavior change behind every Pakistani, enabling each one of them to create a safer, healthier and more hygienic home, neighborhood and country. HSP believes we can only do this with all our powers combined- mil kar lagaingay jaan tou Hoga Saaf Pakistan.
A Pakistan with a common belief and shared responsibility that together we can improve ourselves, our home and our neighborhood for a healthier and cleaner Pakistan.
Once upon a time, long long ago, a nation came into being. In the beginning there were no slums. There was enough room for everyone. Enough for the ones that came searching for a port from where they could lug goodies, enough for the traders that came from elsewhere to sell and buy.
They came after Partition and then never stopped coming. But as droves of migrants arrived, the population increased in days and weeks and years from a few hundred thousand to a million and then more. Thus Pakistan, now home to the sixth largest population in the world, became the country where the majority of the people either live in rural areas or in urban slums.
Millions share the same living conditions due to which 39,000 children die of diarrhea in Pakistan every year. So, in a country where people turned a blind eye, where living amidst garbage, watching children dying because of diarrhoea and other diseases became a habit…someone had to step up…someone had to take charge…someone had to stop all this misery.
So, here I am, a responsible Pakistani. I am “Hoga Saaf Pakistan.”
I believe that everyone has a right to live in an environment that is healthy and nourishing. I am determined to bring back the smiles by giving all a healthier and cleaner Pakistan.
It was all about taking the first step, and I’ve taken it. And more are joining in… the caravan is growing, and it will not stop.
Because, Mil kay lagaein gey jaan… tou Hoga Saaf Pakistan!
